Analytics at Wharton Series:

Reopening Greece with Data-Driven COVID-19 Testing, taking place on Friday, October 09, 2020 at 12:00 PM ET—1:00 PM EDT

Led be Professor Hamsa Bastani, this 1st webinar in the 4-part Analytics at Wharton Series examines the application of machine learning to manage the threat of COVID-19 in Greece, where tourism is a cornerstone of the economy.

With tens of thousands of international visitors every day, Greece cannot test each visitor to ensure that they are not a carrier of COVID-19.

We developed a machine learning platform that combines anonymized passenger data, lab testing results, and public prevalence rates to preferentially target risky tourist profiles for testing.

Our platform uses past data and optimization to improve its own risk predictions while also identifying sick visitors before they enter the country, all subject to Greece’s current COVID-19 testing capacity.

Our solution is currently deployed across all ports of entry to Greece.

Professor Eric Bradlow will moderate Q&A.
